o Your textbook is your responsibility. If you lose it, I will give you another book and you will be issued a debt form for your lost book. If your book gets water/food damage, it is district policy that you will have to pay for the entire book at the end of the year.
You are expected to use your spiral notebook to take notes every day in this class. These notes will be turned in on test day and graded.
Homework is an essential part of school and the learning process. I need to be able to read and follow your work. Math homework is done in pencil. Do your homework in your spiral right after the section of notes so that it is easy to find.
Make sure you understand the material after each lesson, if not…ASK!
Quizzes will be given throughout the year. Tests will be given over each area that we study. A final exam will be given at the end of 18 weeks.
You are expected to turn in all work on time. Late work must be turned in within two days of the original due date. Late work will only be worth half credit. Work not turned in at all is a zero. I expect you to keep track of what assignments are missing.
It is your responsibility to find out what assignments were missed and to turn them in within the time allowed. You have one day for every excused absence to make up your work. Any unexcused absence will result in a zero for the day. Please check the assignment board for the material covered and assignments you missed. For more information, please refer to your student handbook.
Cheating on homework, quizzes, tests, and the like is strictly prohibited. This consists of looking on another’s paper, talking, or giving answers to another. If this is violated, a zero on the work will be given and cannot be made up.
Progress reports are sent home week 6 and week 12 of each semester. The breakdown of grades is below:
Homework 15%
Participation 5%
Quizzes 20%
Tests/Projects 40%
Midterm 5%
Final Exam 15%
TOTAL 100%
If you are failing at any of the 3-week intervals of the semester, you will be assigned to learning lab for extra math help. If you want to go on your own ask me for a pass. If you need to find me to ask a question, I will be in room 212 by 7:30am.
Please refer to your student handbook.
