The Health & Physical
Education Department of Plainfield South High School has made a commitment
to prepare our students for the 21st century. With the increase in the
average life span our students must be prepared to be functional and independent
during their lifetime. The adults of tomorrow will need to be prepared
to assess their own health levels and to make a plan to maintain or improve
it. This process involves being able to make intelligent and informed decisions.
Through our course offering we help our students learn the processes necessary
for them to make changes and adaptations to their lifestyles. Students
will continually face personal assessment and problem solving situations.
This approach to teaching health, physical education, and driver education
will allow us to be more attentive to, responsive to, and supportive of
the diverse needs and wellness status of those we teach.
