Ken moved to Plainfield with the tornado of August 1990.  For six years, Ken was a counselor at PHS-CC and helped to develop many of the Student Services programs that are currently being used in our high schools.

Ken served as Interim Principal at Walkers Grove Elementary for the second semester of 1995.  He was selected as Principal at Lakewood Fall Elementary the next year.  This provided Ken the rare yet rewarding experience of opening a new school and developing a new school community.  Two years later, Ken returned to PHS-CC to serve there as Director of Student Services  for two years and is now Associate Principal and Director of Student Services at Plainfield South.

Ken and his wife, Pat, have three children, Kenneth and Kathryn, at Illinois State University and Kirk, a student at Plainfield High Central Campus.  Pat Decker is the School Psychologist at Central Campus.
