                                                      Classroom Rules
 
1. Students will come to class prepared to learn.
    Specific Rules:
            a.       Students will come to class with the materials necessary for class.  This
                  includes having notebooks, pencils, paper, books, and assignments with them
                  when they come to class.  They will not take out materials from other classes
                 or other materials likely to distract them from the work of the class.  Students
                  will not be allowed to bring food or drink to class (except water).
            b.      Students will participate in classroom activities by taking notes, responding to          
                  teacher’s questions, and following directions.
2. Students will respect the right of others to learn.
    Specific Rules:
            a.   Students need to remain in their seats unless given permission to move about.
            b.   Students will refrain from talking when this would distract others.
            c.   Students will be in their seats and silent when the bell rings to start class.
            d.   Students will make no distracting noises during lessons.
            e.       When sharing ideas during a small group activity, students will talk in low                       
                   tones and will avoid other loud behavior.
3. Students will respect others and their property.
    Specific Rules
            a.       Students will raise their hands and wait to be called on to respond and will not
                  interrupt others who are talking during classroom discussions.
            b.      Students will ask permission to use the property of others, and they will return                
                  such property in good condition.
            c.       When an activity has been completed, the students will clean up the area in                   
                  which they worked.
            d.      School property or the property of others will not be defaced or deliberately                             
                  damaged.
            e.   Students will refrain from insults and name-calling.
            f.    Students will not copy another's work.
4. Students will respect the safety of other students.
    Specific Rules:
            a.   Students will refrain from striking other students.
            b    Students will handle classroom materials in a way that will not threaten the                      
                  safety of other students.
