Skeletal System Study Guide
In
order to successfully complete chapter four,
students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following.
- What are the 2 divisions of the
skeleton? What is included in each?
- What are the 5 functions of the
skeletal system?
- What are the 2 classifications of bone
tissue? Describe them.
- What are the 4 types of bones? Describe each.
- Draw and label the structures of a
long bone.
- Describe an articulating surface of a
long bone.
- Describe the 8 types of fractures and
be able to determine the types of fractures from an x-ray
- Know the names & locations of the
bones of the axial skeleton as given to you in class.
- Know the names & locations of the
bones of the appendicular skeleton as given to you in class.
- Know the types of joints, where they
are found, and how they work.
- What are the normal spinal curvatures? What are the 3 abnormal spinal curvatures?
- What is osteoporosis?
