Classroom Expectations

Responsibility: All students are expected to be responsible for their own actions.

Classroom Behavior:
  • Students must have respect for themselves, their peers, and their environment in order to reach their full potential.
  • It is inappropriate to speak while the teacher or another student is speaking.  Inappropriate comments, noises or words are not allowed.  Respect your peer's comments, views and opinions.
  • The bell does not determine when class begins or ends, the teacher does.  This means that you should arrive to class on time and begin working the minute you enter the classroom and continue working until dismissed by the teacher.
  • Be prepared! Books, binders, student handbook, paper, pens, and pencils should be brought to class everyday unless otherwise instructed.
  • Absolutely no food, drinks or gum are allowed!
  Classroom Policies:
  • Binders- All students are required to keep all class information (notes, handouts, labs, journals, and quizzes) in a three ring binder.  The binder must have dividers identifying each section.
  • Homework- The assignments required of students are important to the learning process and are expected to be complete, neat and on time.  All math work must be done in pencil.  All homework must have the fringe cut off.
  • Projects/Papers- You will be given a timeline for projects and lab reports.  You will be notified of anything that has to be typed.  Typed papers are to be double-spaced, 12 point font, and single sided.
  • Participation- Every student is expected to participate in class.  Learning is an active experience!
  • Flexibility- If you are having problems understanding some of the material or if you have trouble on an assignment, please see me on or before the due date. We will work through any misunderstandings together!
Supplies
  • 3-ring binder (1.5" D-ring or 2" D-ring)
  • Set of 5 tab index dividers
  • Loose leaf paper
  • Black or blue pens
  • #2 pencils
  • Scientific calculator (If graphing calculators are used and abused, students will be asked to use a non-graphing calculator)
Tardiness:
  • The tardy policy is based on the policy stated in the student handbook.

Absences: All students are responsible for completing all work that was missed during any absences.  Be sure to check the homework notebook and the absent folder to see what was done in class.  Remember, it is your responsibility to make up any missing work!  Arrangements must be made the day you return to school to make up tests and quizzes.
